On April 28, the Swedish government invited the press to present a situation report on the country's energy supply and disruptions due to the conflict in the Middle East. The briefing was led by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Energy Minister Ebba Busch and Swedish Energy Agency General Director Caroline Assurp.

In response to the energy supply disruptions caused by the conflict in the Middle East, the Swedish government lowered domestic taxes on fuel and electricity.

According to the International Energy Agency oil and natural gases constitute roughly 20% of Sweden energy mix. This percentage is relatively lower compared to other EU countries like, France, Germany and Italy.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson told the press that, the effects of the disruptions on Sweden is less severe thanks to fossil-fuel-free energy production. Nevertheless, economic impact is to expected if the Middle East conflict is escalated or continued.
