Sweden joins U.S-led critical supply chain initiative Pax Silica

On March 17, Sweden's Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard signed under U.S. led AI and supply chain initiative Pax Silica. The signing ceremony took place during the ministers visit to Houston, Texas. The signing marks a shared commitment between Sweden, U.S. and other member countries in advancing technological progress and establishing supply chain security for emerging technologies.

Pax Silica currently has eleven signatories; Australia, Greece, India, Israel, Japan, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sweden, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.

According to the U.S. Department of State, one strategic concept of the initiative is to support and secure critical minerals extraction.
